Maria Lensing is the Global Chief Information and Technology Officer of Sorenson
Communications, where she leads all aspects of Product Engineering, R&D, Infrastructure,
Technology Operations, and AI-driven Digital Transformation. In this enterprise-wide role, Maria
serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, leveraging technology to drive
innovation, accelerate business growth, and reimagine the digital experience—particularly in
advancing inclusive communication solutions for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
Before stepping into this role, Maria served on Sorenson’s Board of Directors and was Chief
Strategy and Transformation Officer at Walgreens Boots Alliance. There, she led the design of
the company’s technology operating model and spearheaded its enterprise digital
transformation. Her leadership introduced AI-powered innovations, expanded operational
capabilities, and modernized how Walgreens engaged both customers and employees. She also
held responsibility for workforce strategy, vendor management, governance, compliance, and
financial operations across the technology organization.
Earlier in her career, Maria was the Chief Technology Officer at McKesson, where she defined
the company’s technology architecture, modernized its cloud strategy, and led efforts to
support the U.S. vaccine distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her leadership delivered
measurable improvements in system performance and resilience, earning her the 0tle of “CTO
of the Year” by Tech Titans in 2021.
Maria spent over a decade at AT&T in both business and technology leadership roles. She
served as President of Healthcare Services, Chief of Staff to the CEO of AT&T Business, and led
Corporate Strategy—playing a critical role in introducing 5G trials to healthcare, expanding
AT&T’s presence in the sector, and driving large-scale transformation across strategic portfolios.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering
Management from Christian Brothers University, and completed her Executive Education at
Harvard Business School. She is also a boardroom-certified Qualified Technology Expert (QTE). A
passionate advocate for inclusive leadership, STEM education, and advancing Hispanic talent in
technology, Maria has been recognized by Latino Leaders Magazine as one of the Most
Influential Latinas, honored by World 50 Next Women, and named a Super Woman in Business
by the Dallas Business Journal. In 2024, she published her first book, focused on building
cultures of trust, purpose, and authenticity in leadership.
